Hurricane’s Season Kicks Off – Go Canes!!!

It’s the kick off everybody is talking about; UM Hurricanes versus the Florida Atlantic Owls tonight at Sunlife Stadium! The game will start at 8 pm, with what is expected to be their best team in years! Thousands of people have already begun to set up at the parking lots for tailgating festivities! The most nerve wracking aspect of the season for Hurricanes fans and the program itself is that Friday will mark the start of what most anticipate to be Miami’s best season in years. With senior quarterback Stephen Morris, tailback Duke Johnson and an offensive line considered among the elite in college football, this is the campaign in which coach Al Golden is expected to take the Canes back to relevancy; they have not won more than seven games in six of the past seven seasons.

Tonight makes the third season under head coach Al Golden, who states “They look at Friday night as an opportunity to prove themselves what they are developing and what they want to become.” During halftime of the opener, the Hurricanes will honor former head coach Howard Schnellenberger- who is a legend to both programs- and the 1983 National Championship team for its 30th anniversary. This will be the first time the Hurricanes meet the 32-point underdog Owls.

A very interesting intelligence report was developed yesterday, courtesy of Hurricanesports.com, comparing the two teams offensively and defensively, looking at each teams Yards Per Game, Passing Yards, Rushing Yards, and Take Aways. So far, it’s looking very optimistic for the Canes!

The best part of this kickoff is that it’s the perfect start to Labor Day weekend! Make it extra special by planning a Miami Deep Sea Fishing trip out to sea with The THERAPY-IV, Miami’s best fishing charter with over 40 years experience. Call me, Captain Stan, at 305-945-1578 with any questions.

Ty Carter Awarded Highest Honor in the Land

On Monday, August 26th, President Obama awarded Army Staff Sergeant Ty M. Carter the nation’s highest military decoration- the Medal of Honor. Carter displayed true heroism during one of the most intense battles of the Afghanistan war, now referred to as the battle at Combat Outpost Keating, which took place on October 3rd, 2009. President Obama called Carter a “true American hero” for his actions during the ambush, which consisted of Carter, at one point, carrying Spc. Stephan L. Mace unarmed through a flurry of bullets.

Despite Carter’s heroic efforts, Spc. Stephan L. Mace later died from the wounds he incurred from the battle, which still understandably affects Carter to this day. Carter openly stated his fellow soldier’s death left him “shattered,” eventually receiving treatment for post traumatic stress disorder soon after. In this aspect, Carter is also considered a hero for his strength to get through the debilitating ordeal that many veterans have to face. He was commended by President Obama for speaking out against his struggle with post-traumatic stress (Carter prefers it without the “D” word), encouraging other soldiers to follow his lead. Obama said, “Let me say as clearly as I can… he is as tough as they come, and if he can find the courage to seek help, so can you.”

The Medal of Honor recipient says he is now doing much better thanks to the support of his family and friends. Carter additionally has earned several military decorations, including the Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and the Army Good Conduct Medal.

Next is a gorgeous Dolphin (Mahi Mahi) catch with lovely color that made a beautiful picture. Also, check out this fantastic Sailfish catch found just a few miles off the coast of Miami Beach. There’s much more to see on our YouTube page, so have a look and get inspired.

You can find a huge variety of species in the Atlantic waters of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, most of them visible all year round. Some include numerous types of sharks, Marlin, Dolphin fish, Tuna, Grouper, Barracuda, Snapper, Black Sea Bass, and Kingfish, among many others. A Perfect Celebration - Obama Celebrates 1972 Dolphins at the White House

On Tuesday, August 20th, President Obama hosted the 1972 Miami Dolphins team for a long-overdue salute to the team for their record-breaking, undefeated season over 40 years ago. At that point in history, it was not an established tradition, as it is today, for the Super Bowl-winning teams to visit the White House for a ceremony. Even if it had been customary, the timing was bad, as President Nixon was entangled in the Watergate scandal, though he was a known major sports fan. Legendary Coach Don Shula, who was present at the ceremony, divulged afterwards that he used to get occasional phone calls from Nixon, asking him to run certain plays. Who knows? Perhaps their monumental victory would have otherwise earned them the very first invitation to the White House.

The ceremony was jovial, as President Obama fired out some light-hearted jokes during his speech and engaged in friendly banter with Coach Don Shula. He even made a remarkable concession in reference to a previous comment he made about his favorite football team, the Chicago Bears. He said “I've got to come clean here. A couple years ago, I hosted the '85 Bears out on the South Lawn. They'd also missed their chance to have a White House visit. And that day, I called them the greatest team ever. But, I mean, take it with a grain of salt. The Bears lost once in their nearly perfect season.” At this point, Shula happily chimed in with “"Who beat 'em?!” and Obama accordingly replied, “It happened to be the Dolphins."

Stay on top of this year’s Miami Dolphins season with the Therapy-IV, and celebrate all their victories with an exciting Miami Dolphin Fishing trip on one of our top-notch charter boats. Back-to-School Day from The THERAPY-IV

Another school year brings another year of wonderful adventures for kids and parents alike. We at the Therapy-IV would like to wish you a happy Back-to-School Day, and hope the rest of the year promises a renewed thirst for knowledge and many unforgettable, proud moments.

Today, approximately 347,000 students will start their day at a Miami-Dade public school, and roughly 50,000 will attend some 128 charter schools. The district will transport more than 60,000 students on 1,300 buses, so brace yourself for condensed highways and streets, and prepare to leave your home a little earlier than usual. Miami-Dade will provide 285,000 meals, with lunch today being a delicious Freschetta and baked ravioli with meat sauce, and broccoli, spinach, and romaine salad on the side. In Broward County, over 260,000 students will return to class, including roughly 33,000 who attend charter schools. About 80,000 students will travel on the 1,000 school buses. Broward expects to serve 150,000 lunches, which includes personal pan pizzas, cheeseburger sliders, and entrée salads.

The weather forecast for today is a bit dodgy, with clear weather in the morning, but scattered thunder storms expected to appear in the lunch and afternoon hours. A toasty high of 88 degrees is expected throughout the day.

We encourage all children and teens to work hard for their future and reach for the stars… but when the time comes to take a break, take our advice, parents, and hop aboard a charter with us to experience a fishing trip like no other. Our fishing charters are an adventurous and educational experience, perfect for spending quality time together while enjoying beautiful Miami weather out on the open sea. Shark Week!!

It’s Shark Week! Very-much fans of the highly-anticipated, yearly television event, we at the Therapy-IV love to celebrate with our clients by embarking on one of Miami’s most exciting pastimes. Miami Shark Fishing is an action-packed adventure perfect for novices seeking an exciting trip or experienced fishermen who love the challenge of big game. Our fascination with- and perhaps fear of- sharks hasn’t waned since the movie “Jaws” came out in the ‘70’s, as is clearly shown in the millions of watchers of Shark Week every year. The Therapy-IV crew is the best, and safest, choice for those who dream about going Shark Fishing.

There are many varieties of big Sharks that swim in our Gulf Stream waters year round, including big Hammerhead, Tiger, Mako, Blacktip, Dusky and Thresher sharks. They can range from 25-1,000 pounds. The largest Hammerhead Shark that we have caught aboard the THERAPY-IV was 15 feet long and weighed 1,024 pounds! Recently, even Great White sightings have been increasing off the coast of Florida. Catching a shark requires incredible skill, a trait the Therapy-IV crew does not lack. On top of that, you need the right equipment, and our boats come with top-of-the-line equipment that makes fishing them today more plausible, effective, and comfortable. These features include a large tuna tower for spotting sharks and other big game, giant live bait tanks, giant outriggers for spacing the baits apart and a giant flying bridge with a captain’s chair and two fighting chairs. Sharks are strong fighters and can be very big and very powerful; the cockpit fishing area is equipped with a giant transom door for boating the large monsters safely, with less hassle and strain. If you have been thinking about trying to catch a shark for a trophy, replica trophy mounts are available with catch and release of the shark.

To schedule a charter, call Captain Stan at 305-945-1578.

Miami Marlin Fishing for Deep Sea Fishing Enthusiasts

To seasoned anglers, there is nothing more thrilling than the tell-tale tug of a “monster” on the fishing line. Monsters, as they are affectionately nick-named, refer to big game fish such as Marlin. The Marlin, iconic inspiration for the Miami Marlins and Hemingway’s animal protagonist in The Old Man and the Sea, is especially considered by many fishermen to be the pinnacle of deep sea fishing. This is due to the size, power, and speed of the species, which weigh, on average, between 200 to 400 lbs and can swim as fast as 70 miles/hour. Miami Marlin Fishing is an adventure available to anyone through The THERAPY-IV fleet- our boats are even outfitted for wheelchair accessible fishing.

In the past, it required considerable skill to capture a Marlin, but the top-of-the-line equipment found on the THERAPY-IV makes fishing them today more plausible, effective, and comfortable. These features include a large tuna tower for spotting Marlins and other big game, giant live bait tanks, giant outriggers for spacing the baits apart and a giant flying bridge with a captain’s chair and two fighting chairs. Marlins tend to flap wildly after being caught, but the cockpit fishing area is equipped with a giant transom door for boating the monsters safely.

Located in Halouver Marina, The THERAPY-IV fleet is just 6 minutes from the gulf stream, a prime spot for catching Blue and White Marlins as they migrate. Our crew has over 40 years experience fishing Miami’s coastline, which makes us the premier experts on Miami Deep Sea Fishing. Booking a fishing trip with The THERAPY-IV is easy-reservations can be placed online or over the phone- and pricing is reasonable- we match any legitimate pricing of comparable fishing charter boat services. Contact me, Captain Stan, for further information at 305-945-1578 or via http://www.therapy4.com.

U.S COAST GUARD DAY THIS SUNDAY- HONOR THOSE WHO PROTECT OUR SHORES

The Therapy-IV is always excited to celebrate one of the least-prominent U.S. Holidays- U.S. Coast Guard Day, a day dedicated to honoring the military branch that protects our waters and shorelines. On August 4, 1790, the Revenue Cutter Service- predecessor of the U.S. Coast Guard- was created by Congress to enforce U.S. tariff law. This year, August 4th falls on this Sunday. What better way is there to sound off the holiday than with a trip out to sea on a top-of-the-line charter boat?

Our boats run 7 days a week, from 8 am to 12 pm or from 1 pm to 5 pm. Our amazing vessels  include a large tuna tower for spotting Marlins and other big game, giant live bait tanks, giant outriggers for spacing the baits apart and a giant flying bridge with a captain’s chair and two fighting chairs. Additionally, the cockpit fishing area is equipped with a giant transom door for boating big game safely. Take a trip out this weekend with the Therapy-IV crew for an amazing, nautical experience.
