Hurricane’s Season Kicks Off – Go Canes!!!

It’s the kick off everybody is talking about; UM Hurricanes versus the Florida Atlantic Owls tonight at Sunlife Stadium! The game will start at 8 pm, with what is expected to be their best team in years! Thousands of people have already begun to set up at the parking lots for tailgating festivities! The most nerve wracking aspect of the season for Hurricanes fans and the program itself is that Friday will mark the start of what most anticipate to be Miami’s best season in years. With senior quarterback Stephen Morris, tailback Duke Johnson and an offensive line considered among the elite in college football, this is the campaign in which coach Al Golden is expected to take the Canes back to relevancy; they have not won more than seven games in six of the past seven seasons.

Tonight makes the third season under head coach Al Golden, who states “They look at Friday night as an opportunity to prove themselves what they are developing and what they want to become.” During halftime of the opener, the Hurricanes will honor former head coach Howard Schnellenberger- who is a legend to both programs- and the 1983 National Championship team for its 30th anniversary. This will be the first time the Hurricanes meet the 32-point underdog Owls.

A very interesting intelligence report was developed yesterday, courtesy of Hurricanesports.com, comparing the two teams offensively and defensively, looking at each teams Yards Per Game, Passing Yards, Rushing Yards, and Take Aways. So far, it’s looking very optimistic for the Canes!

The best part of this kickoff is that it’s the perfect start to Labor Day weekend! Make it extra special by planning a Miami Deep Sea Fishing trip out to sea with The THERAPY-IV, Miami’s best fishing charter with over 40 years experience. Call me, Captain Stan, at 305-945-1578 with any questions.
