Top October Events in Miami Beach

For many, October is an exciting month. South Floridians enjoy increasingly pleasant weather as the fall season commences, kids excitedly plan for Halloween right around the corner, and locals experience a myriad of fun events planned in Miami Beach. This month’s annual events include the Miami/Broward One Carnival, the Funkshion: Fashion Week Miami Beach event, and the South Beach Seafood Festival.

On October 13th, over 20 masquerade bands and 6 steel bands will be parading and competing for “Band of the Year” through the colorful streets of Miami Gardens. The parade will feature beautiful, intricate costumes along with infectious musical sounds of soca. Don’t miss this event, complete with live concerts throughout the day, Caribbean food and drinks, and goods and services from the Caribbean.

From October 16th through the 19th, the Funkshion: Fashion Week Miami Beach will take the spotlight in Collins Park, between 21st street and 22nd street on Collins Avenue. The show is geared towards designer diffusion collections and innovative lifestyle brands, providing a platform for designers of any experience level to showcase their collections to media, celebrities, and international buyers.

Last but not least, there’s the South Beach Seafood Festival on October 19th, a spectacular, all-day event with live entertainment, chef demonstrations, signature cocktails and, of course, culinary seafood menus. The event will last from 11 am to 7 pm.

The Excitement of Barracuda Fishing In Miami Beach

Sometimes referred to as the “tiger of the sea,” Barracudas have a fierce reputation and a fearsome set of razor-sharp teeth that make them popular targets for Miami Beach Deep Sea Fishing enthusiasts. A great aspect of Miami Beach Barracuda Fishing is that the ‘cudas can be found inshore, offshore, near coral reefs, inlets, swimming in the ocean, in the Gulf Stream- pretty much anywhere! After a hefty fight, catching a big one can be very exciting, rewarding, and even addicting.

With over 40 years experience fishing the Atlantic and bay waters of Miami, the Therapy-IV team is the best team to spend a day out on the sea with. We have an expert crew and two fantastic 58-foot vessels fully-equipped to catch any fish traversing our waters, making us your best bet to hooking these good-looking fish. Barracudas caught in our waters average in size between 8 and 20 lbs, but can grow to be much larger than 25 lbs.

In addition to Barracuda, you can find a huge variety of species in the Atlantic waters of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, most of them visible all year round. Some include numerous types of sharks, Marlin, Dolphin fish, Tuna, Grouper, Snapper, Black Sea Bass, and Kingfish, among many others. Check out pictures of some of the monsters we have caught deep-sea fishing on the Daily Catch section of our website: http://therapy4.com/daily_catch.php. That could be you and your family on your next fishing trip with Therapy-IV!

I’m Captain Stan of the Therapy-IV crew and I’ve been a passionate sports fisherman since I was a young man. I am, along with the rest of my crew, dedicated to providing the best charter fishing experience to anyone ready to experience ultimate deep sea fishing. To plan your trip with us, call us at 305-945-1578.

Big Weekend for Miami Sports Teams

It was a fantastic weekend for Miami football fans, as both games resulted in the Dolphins and ‘Canes moving on with a 3-0 season so far!

The Miami Dolphins closed on a win against the Atlantic Falcons yesterday, who put up a good fight and did all the right things. Rising star Ryan Tannehill, the team’s quarterback, led the Dolphins to a 27-23 win, making them 3-0 for the first time since 2002. These spectacular performances since the start of the season is getting Tannehill noticed, and many consider him to be the new Dan Marino- the Dolphin’s franchise quarterback. Catch the team’s next game on September 30th against the New Orleans Saints at 8:30 pm.

This weekend marked an astounding win for the Miami Hurricanes, as well, as they crushed Savannah State with a 77-7 victory. The record-breaking game went smoothly but for an injury to starting quarterback Stephen Morris. Six minutes in, Morris fell with a right-ankle sprain, but in those few minutes he led the Canes on two scoring drives. The injury was diagnosed as minor enough to get Morris ready in time for their game on Saturday against USF.

We at the Therapy-IV love our sports and will be keeping you up-to-date on latest news and updates in college and pro-football. What better way to celebrate this week's victory than to enjoy a day out at sea for some Miami Dolphin Fishing. If you’re looking for a thrilling day out, consider us for your next Miami Deep Sea Fishing trip. Call me, Captain Stan, at 305-945-1578.

The History of THERAPY-IV’s Home Haulover Park and Marina

The THERAPY-IV is based in Halouver Marina, just 2 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and 6 minutes from the Gulf Stream. Our home gives us a prime spot for Miami Deep Sea Fishing, inshore and offshore, and is located just south of Sunny Isles and north of Bal Harbour on Collins Avenue. The THEAPY-IV has operated in the area for decades, and has frequently been involved with or promoted several local events over the years, particularly those that occur in its headquarters near Big Bill Marina, located in Haulover Park. Our reputable deep sea fishing charter has been ranked as the #1 activity in Miami Beach by TripAdvisor, a travel website, and is well-regarded by its clients, based on testimonials.

Halouver Park is a 99-acre urban park in Miami, located on a shoal between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. It features a marina, six tennis courts, a nine-hole 27-par golf course, and several picnic recreation areas on the southern end. In late 1948, Halouver Park became open to the public, about 8 years after the Dade County Commission procured the property and began construction on beach facilities. In 1991, a portion of the northern beach  was designated by South Florida Free Beaches, a local naturist organization, and remains a clothing-optional beach to this day.

Miami Dolphins Persevere in Win Against Colts

It was a glorious, 24-20 victory for the Miami Dolphins this Sunday against the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis! Thanks to a switch in defensive tactics to combat the elusive Andrew Luck, who had been pulling amazing plays the whole afternoon, the Dolphins gained and held a four-point lead for the game’s final minutes and won. Ryan Tannehill got Mike Wallace more involved in the offense, the running game improved, and the defense made big plays- our team earned the hard win, in the end, with smart playing and a whole lot of talent.

This win marked the Dolphins’ first 2-0 start since 2010, putting them atop the AFC East with all eight home games still to come. “We were really fired up to get a win on the road against a team that doesn’t lost [at home] typically,” said Wheeler. The game was a real knuckle-biter, keeping fans everywhere on the edge of their seats. For a while, the game looked destined to play to script. The Dolphins jumped to an early 14-3 lead, but as in last year’s loss to Indianapolis, they let it slip away. The Colts led 20-17 early in the third quarter, and Luck, who entered Sunday with eight career fourth-quarter comeback victories, was rolling.

Inside a joyous postgame locker room, the win’s significance wasn’t lost on the Dolphins, from the top down. Even the normally stoic Joe Philbin was emotionally charged when he addressed the team. “It is very satisfying anytime you can win on the road and to have a complete game,” said Tannehill.

We at the Therapy-IV love our sports and will be keeping you up-to-date on latest news and updates in college and pro-football. What better way to celebrate this week's victory than to enjoy a day out at sea for some Miami Dolphin Fishing. Back in the AP Top 25 – Your Miami Hurricanes!!!!

Congratulations to the Miami Hurricanes, who jumped into The Associated Press (AP) Top 25 on Sunday!! Debuting as No. 15 following its 21-16 upset win over Florida, they’re back in the AP Top 25 for the first time since the week of Nov. 14, 2010. It’s also their first top-15 ranking since the week of Oct. 3, 2010, when they were ranked No. 13.

The AP College Poll provides weekly rankings of the top 25 NCAA teams in one of three Division I college sports: football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball. The rankings are compiled by polling sportswriters across the nation. Each voter provides his own ranking of the top 25 teams, and the individual rankings are then combined to produce the national ranking by giving a team 25 points for a first place vote, 24 for a second place vote, and so on down to 1. The USA Today Poll ranks Miami at No. 18, tied with Michigan, and ESPN.com’s Power Rankings place Miami at No. 14.

Stay tuned for more exciting news on our beloved Miami team; more excitement is scheduled on September 21st  for the game against Savannah State, starting at 7 pm. After that, the 28th is the game against USF, and October 5th against Georgia Tech. If you missed out on the chance to be a season ticket holder for this 2013 season, you now have a second chance to get your season tickets for the remaining home games, with prices starting at $80 in the 400 level.

We at the Therapy-IV love our sports and will be keeping you up-to-date on latest news and updates in college and pro-football. If you’re looking for a thrilling day out, consider us for your next Miami Deep Sea Fishing trip. Call me, Captain Stan, at 305-945-1578.

A Day of Remembrance on a Solemn Anniversary 09-11

On this day, we at The THERAPY-IV are remembering the attack that changed America exactly 12 years ago. Bowing our heads, we think of those we lost on that fateful day, the families who were also victim to the terror, and the many lives lost in battles that were spawned in the smoldering rubble of ground zero. To this day, the toll of 9/11 is still being felt in the thousands of deaths during a decade of war, and in honor of their sacrifice we are spending the day in solemn remembrance.

In 102 minutes on September 11, 2001, the world looked in horror as terrorist flew hijacked passenger planes into New York City’s mighty twin towers, killing more than 2,700 people. Since that day, there have been countless witness accounts shared with the world. Here is a link to an informative and interactive tool provided by History.com that shares nine unfiltered videos from nine New Yorkers who witnessed that day. Also found on the site are other interactives and related videos worthy of watching.

Check out these other notable links on 12th anniversary; Read some powerful quotes remembering 9/11 here, more on the continuing effect the attack has on countless lives here, and more on the memorial at the site of the Twin Towers here. It is important to remember our country’s history to completely understand what has shaped us, what we can overcome, and what it means to be an American.

We are so proud to be American, and to spend our days sharing the beloved American pastime of sports fishing to all those who come to our charter for a great time. If you’d like to spend a day out at sea with us, call me, Captain Stan at 305-945-1578, or visit our page at Therapy4.com.

Canes Versus Gators in Highly-Anticipated Game This Saturday!

Brace yourselves for the game Florida college football fans have been waiting for this season; the game pitting long-time rivals UM Hurricanes against UF ‘Gators this Saturday, September 7th! The infamous rivalry still burns brightly, making the event all the more anticipated and more exciting. In fact, the advanced parking passes for Saturday’s football game at Sun Life Stadium are all completely sold out. These include the parking passes on the main grounds, so fans without pre-paid parking will be directed to the stadium’s cash lots that line the outer roads into the stadium.

You might also find the majority of Canes fans wearing white to the game, as it was declared “White Out the Gators” Saturday! So, if you’re a fan of Florida’s best college football team, show your support by donning your best white t-shirt. UM’s student-run organization, Category 5, has ordered 6,000 white shirts to be distributed to UM students today at a pep rally. The t-shirts feature an Al Golden tie and a pair of Sebastian the Ibis sunglasses.

Tomorrow’s game marks the 55th time in series history that Miami and Florida will meet, with kickoff set for noon eastern time on ESPN. It’s the first series meeting since 2008 and the first UM home game in the series since 2003, so it’s bound to be an historic event. The Hurricane’s Honorary Captain for the game will be Brock Berlin, who led Miami to 28 unanswered points and a 38-33 come-from-behind victory over Florida in 2003.

With all the excitement and intensity of this Saturday’s game, you’re bound to be exhausted by the end of it. Plan a relaxing Miami Deep Sea Fishing trip out to sea with The THERAPY-IV this Sunday, or any day of the week. The THERAPY-IV is Miami’s best fishing charter with over 40 years experience in local waters. Call me, Captain Stan, at 305-945-1578 with any questions.
