It may be snowing in northern Florida but, down here, the weekend promises to be a beautiful and sunny 80 degrees. If you’re looking for something to do, make your way down to Haulover Marina and celebrate Miami by enjoying the sun, water, and good old-fashioned fishing. The THERAPY-IV is South Florida’s premier fishing charter, boasting over 40 years’ experience.

Our experience, crew, and unrivaled understanding of Miami’s waters is what has earned us the TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice award for 2013 and TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence for the past three years. Additionally, our fishing charter has received the highest rating by 339 travelers.

Book a trip with us and see why, to seasoned anglers, there is nothing more thrilling than the tell-tale tug of a “monster” on the fishing line. Monsters, as they are affectionately nick-named, refer to big game fish. Deep Sea Fishing is an adventure available to anyone through The THERAPY-IV fleet- our boats are even outfitted for wheelchair accessible fishing. Our fleet consists of two magnificent, huge yachts fully-equipped to catch a variety of fish, such as Marlin, Sailfish, Sharks, Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi or Dorado), Tuna, Wahoo, Barracuda, Snappers, and many more. These features include a large tuna tower for spotting big game, giant live bait tanks, giant outriggers for spacing the baits apart and a giant flying bridge with a captain’s chair and two fighting chairs. The cockpit fishing area is equipped with a giant transom door for boating the monsters safely. Deluxe amenities, such as air conditioning, TV, XM satellite radio, bar counter, shower, and more, can be enjoyed on our boats.

Located in Halouver Marina, The THERAPY-IV fleet is just 6 minutes from the gulf stream, a prime spot for catching many types of fish as they migrate. For more information on our Miami Beach Deep Sea Fishing services, contact me, Captain Stan, by calling 305-945-1578.

Kite Festival Coming to Haulover Marina Feb 16th!

The THERAPY-IV is based in Haulover Marina, just 2 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and 6 minutes from the Gulf Stream. Our home gives us a prime spot for Miami Deep Sea Fishing, inshore and offshore, and is located just south of Sunny Isles and north of Bal Harbour on Collins Avenue. The THERAPY-IV has operated in the area for decades, and has frequently been involved with or promoted several local events over the years, particularly those that occur in its headquarters near Big Bill Marina, located in Haulover Park.

Next month, one of our favorite events is coming to Haulover Marina on Sunday, February 16th, to color the skies: the 21st annual Kite Day! Miami Beach will become even more beautiful as a spectacle of shapes and hues soar over the skyline, displaying a wide array of hundreds of kites. There will be magnificent kites such as the 100-foot flying squid, the 30-foot flying scuba man, 300 square-foot parafoils, a 30-foot flying Nemo fish, and the 150-foot flying rainbow, among many more. Hosted by Miami-Dade Parks and Skyward Kites, a premiere kite shop situated in Haulover, this event is free to the public and even features paper kite building classes and demonstrations and kite-flying competitions for children and adults alike. What better way to enjoy the famous Miami weather than with a picnic at this waterfront park for some great kite-watching?

We at The THERAPY-IV boast over 40 years of experience Miami Beach Deep Sea Fishing. We set sail 7 days a week, twice daily between 8 am and 5 pm. All-day charters are also available for private, corporate, or group fishing. I’m Captain Stan and I’ve been a passionate sports fisherman since I was a young man. I am, along with the rest of my crew, dedicated to providing the best charter fishing experience to anyone ready to experience ultimate deep sea fishing. Heat VS Celtics Tonight!

As avid Miami Heat fans, we at The THERAPY-IV like to keep track of our favorite team’s progress through the season. Tonight, we’ll be watching intently and supporting the best NBA team, but before that, here’s a short preview of the game, provided by ESPN.

“The Heat will next face a Celtics team that has had major troubles of its own, even with Rajon Rondo back in the lineup. Boston (14-28) has lost nine in a row on the road and 14 of 16 overall. Rondo, who missed the first 40 games while rehabbing ACL surgery, is averaging 7.0 points and 4.0 assists on 36.8 percent shooting in 20.5 minutes since returning Friday.

In their last game, a 93-91 loss at Orlando on Sunday, offensive struggles at the end cost the Celtics. After the Magic took the lead with 10.1 seconds remaining, Boston was unable to put up a shot in the final seconds.

This matchup will allow Joel Anthony to face his former team for the first time. Anthony, who started 110 games during his six-plus seasons in Miami, was sent to the Celtics on Wednesday in a three-team trade. Though he has yet to play for Boston, coach Brad Stevens has already seen the center's value.

Boston is 5-16 on the road, but one of those wins came when Green hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to help the Celtics knock off Miami 111-110 on Nov. 9.

Following this homestand, Miami plays seven of its next eight on the road.”

2013 NBA Champions at the White House- Go Heat!

The Miami Heat were honored at the White House yesterday, January 14th, 2014, for the 2013 NBA Champions' second consecutive title.

"Last season, the Heat put together one of the most dominating regular seasons ever by a defending champion," President Obama said. "They won a team-record 66 games.  At one point, they won 27 games straight -- the second-longest winning streak ever."

The President congratulated head coach Eric Spoelstra, team president Pat Riley, and members of the staff and crew, and gave a special congrats to the all-star Heat lineup for their hard work last season including finals MVP Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Ray Allen, Chris Bosh, Mario Chalmers, Shane Battier, Udonis Haslem, and Chris Anderson.

As if you needed more reason to love our local team, the team is known for promoting and generating funds for local charities. "The Heat showed us the kind of heart and determination it takes to be a champion," the President said. "And they also showed what heart means off the court." Last year, the team raised close to $2 million for local charities. And today, while at the White House, players met with wounded warriors from the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

“So bottom line is, outstanding athletes, outstanding organization, outstanding team, but also outstanding members of their community.  And so we’re very proud to have them back.  We wish them great luck for the rest of the season, unless they’re playing the Bulls,” stated President Obama during his speech.

After President Obama's remarks, Coach Spoelstra presented the President with an honorary trophy signed by the entire team and a jersey. The President, a longtime Bulls fan even joked "You know, you guys are winning me over a little bit."

We at The THERAPY-IV love our local sports teams, so you can look forward to more posts like these in our blog. For information on Miami Deep Sea Fishing, contact us by calling 305-945-1578.

More Than Just a Pastime- Fishing Has Health Benefits, Too!

To many people, especially those not too familiar with fishing, the sport seems like a pastime with little to no exercise and a whole lot of sitting and waiting. While there is plenty of relaxation involved, and a whole lot of blissful enjoyment, fishing offers surprising health benefits as well! There is no physique or level of stamina or strength required to do this. Just by fishing, your muscle groups, heart and lungs are getting its share of exercise. Fishing is a perfect low stress, low-impact activity that keeps you moving for hours and it has become evident that angling can improve the condition of your heart, body, and mind.

Miami Beach Deep Sea Fishing and big bass fishing gives you a strenuous workout when reeling, and even small fish can help to keep your body in motion. Additional benefits to your body include increased dexterity due to the baiting and reeling keeping your shoulders and arms flexible, healthier lungs from all the fresh air, and increased levels of Vitamin D from your time out in the sun which leads to healthier skin.

On top of the ample physical benefits, fishing is good for overall mood improvement and a stress-free mind. “Unplugging” from daily stresses can let your brain recharge and give you better focus. Fishing does not have any time pressure or deadline. You patiently wait for your catch while enjoying the fresh air, peacefulness and sunshine. In short, fishing is an actual brain vacation.

With a mix of physical activity, relaxation, fresh air, tranquility, sunshine and the feeling of fulfillment when catching a fish, you will achieve a sounder and healthier mind and body after your fishing trips. I’m Captain Stan and I’ve been a passionate sports fisherman since I was a young man. I am, along with the rest of my crew of The THERAPY-IV, dedicated to providing the best charter fishing experience to anyone ready to experience ultimate deep sea fishing.
