Get Ready for Miami Heat V Indiana Pacers

Tonight could mean the Heat advancing to the NBA Finals, and the excitement is palpable. After a very close Game 5, the Pacers managed a victory that earned them another chance to get through. Since then, the Miami Heat have been trying to regroup and gain the focus needed for tonight’s game.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra almost never holds a practice the day after a road game, especially when the team plane lands around 3:30 a.m. as was the case in the wee hours of Thursday morning. However, Spoelstra deviated from the norm on the day before Game 6 of this East title series, not for any one on-court issue but rather so the two-time defending NBA champions could relieve some frustration.

"Clear heads … and to connect," Spoelstra said. "We didn't want to leave it all to tomorrow. There were some things we wanted to go over, and for time's sake, splitting it up was a little bit more efficient." The Heat still lead the series 3-2, and get the chance to close the Pacers out for the third straight year tonight. The game is in Miami, where the Heat have won their past 10 playoff contests.

Almost everything went wrong for Miami in Game 5, and the Heat still nearly won. James shot just 2 for 10 in 24 minutes, and got his fifth foul with 8½ minutes left in the third quarter, with the Heat leading by eight. Miami went scoreless on nine of its first 12 possessions after James checked out and the Pacers used that stretch to build a five-point lead, the margin eventually reaching seven when George connected on a 3-pointer at the third-quarter buzzer.

Down by as many as 11 in the fourth, Miami had a chance to take the lead in the final seconds, but Chris Bosh's 3-pointer bounced away. And with that, the Heat started the process of turning the page to tonight, when they could punch their fourth straight ticket to the NBA Finals.

Memorial Day Weekend Coming Up! Go on a Miami Deep Sea Fishing Trip!

Memorial Day, an American holiday observed on the last Monday of May, honors men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of summer. There’s no better time to put on some sunscreen, take a trip out to sea with THERAPY-IV, and enjoy a long weekend the best way imaginable. Our Miami Deep Sea Fishing charter is the best in all of South Florida, equipped with everything you need for a successful fishing trip.

Want to catch the national moment of remembrance at 3:00 pm on Memorial Day? Don’t worry, our cabin is equipped with a big-screen TV, along with other amenities including air conditioning, XM Satellite, radio, bar counter, spacious bathroom and shower, and more. Looking back at the tradition, it is unclear where exactly this tradition originated; numerous different communities may have independently initiated the memorial gatherings. Nevertheless, in 1966 the federal government declared Waterloo, New York, the official birthplace of Memorial Day. Waterloo—which had first celebrated the day on May 5, 1866—was chosen because it hosted an annual, community-wide event, during which businesses closed and residents decorated the graves of soldiers with flowers and flags.

Miami Heat VS Brooklyn Nets Game 5 Tonight!

The Miami Heat are potentially just a game away from a fourth straight trip to the Eastern Conference finals, if they win tonight versus the Brooklyn Nets.

Almost from the moment Game 4 of this East second-round series against the Brooklyn Nets ended, the moment where the Heat took complete control of the matchup by riding the strength of LeBron James' 49-point night in a 102-96 victory, all the attention was directed toward what the two-time defending NBA champions figure to be their biggest challenge yet. As the Nets’ season will be at stake, nobody expects it to be an easy game.

"This team is not going to give us the game," Heat guard Dwyane Wade cautioned, minutes after his team took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. "This series is far from over." That's exactly the mindset Heat coach Erik Spoelstra wants his team to have. Recent history, though, would suggest that Miami is on the brink of advancing.

The task is daunting, without question. For Brooklyn to prevail, it needs to beat the Heat three times in five days, two of those games in Miami, and do so with James coming off a scoring show that matched the best of his postseason career. He made 16 of 24 shots in Game 4, carrying Miami for much of the night.

"The wise one knows that you don't go into it thinking `This is it,'" Heat guard Ray Allen said. "You have to still build on all your habits. You have to go out there and you have to get better. If this is a closeout game, then we don't want to just settle for how we played. We want to get better and think about where we can potentially go."

The Heat Are Up 2-0 Against The Brooklyn Nets

The Miami Heat is once again proving why it’s one of the best teams in NBA history: today they managed to away from the Nets by a commanding 2-0 win their eighth playoff. The two-time defending NBA champions are now two wins from another trip to the Eastern Conference finals.

As the following ESPN recap shows, it was quite a game.

LeBron James scored 22 points, Chris Bosh added 18 and the Heat pulled away late to beat the Nets 94-82 on Thursday night, taking a 2-0 lead in the East semifinals.
"To be able to get some stops like that at the end, and then execute, it's something that's critical in this series," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.
Dwyane Wade had 14 and Ray Allen scored 13 for the Heat, who tied a franchise record with their eighth straight playoff victory.
They'll go for No. 9 on Saturday night, when the best-of-seven series shifts to Brooklyn for Game 3.
For the second straight game, Miami had five players in double figures."That's what our team is all about," James said. "We don't really care who scores."

At this point, we’ve come to expect nothing less from the Heat, who seem poised to once again score big for Miami. It’s little wonder why Captain Stan and the rest of the THERAPY-IV are so proud of their roots in the city.

Another point of pride is the world-class quality of Miami Deep Sea Fishing, which attracts people from all over the world. You won’t find a better Miami Beach Deep Sea Fishing Boat than the THERAPY-IV, a fleet of two state-of-the-art 58-foot sportsfishing boats.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!

The THERAPY-IV would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Cinco de Mayo!!

Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day -- that's September 16, and it is the country's most important national holiday. Rather, it's a commemoration of Mexico's unlikely and surprising defeat of invading French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín.

France had invaded and occupied Mexico partly in response to the latter's refusal to pay interest on its foreign debt, but largely to fulfill the imperial ambitions of French Emperor Napoleon III (the nephew and heir of Napoleon Bonaparte). France was one of the preeminent powers of the time – and at one point was backed by the United Kingdom, Austria, and Spain – so fact that Mexico was able to mount such a resounding victory became cause for celebration. Mexican forces had been under-equipped and numbered only half of their French opponents (about 4,000 versus 8,000).

In any case, the French ultimately won the war and occupied Mexico until around 1867, when Maximilian I – who had been installed by the French as Emperor of the Second Mexican Empire – was overthrown and executed by Mexican revolutionaries. So despite losing the largely battle, Mexicans remained proud that they were able to hold their own and eventually win their freedom.

Interestingly, Cinco de Mayo is not a big holiday in Mexico except in the Puebla region where the battle was fought. In fact, it is far more popular in the United States, where it originated among Mexican-American communities in the 1860s, particularly in California. It eventually expanded across the country as a celebration of Mexican heritage and culture -- and an opportunity to drink and party -- not unlike the way St. Patrick's Day is celebrated.

Cinco de Mayo has also caught on globally, with celebrations occurring in Australia, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Japan, and other countries. As a reflection of the holiday's largely American roots, most foreign celebrations often invoke American culture and/or other Latin American heritages.
