In the wake of the recent shootings in Dallas, our team at Therapy-IV would like express our deepest condolences to those affected by this crime. The incident on July 7, 2016 began as a peaceful protest until the demonstrators began to hear gunshots. This gunfire originated from the lone suspect, Micah Xavier Johnson’s gun.
Johnson was a veteran of the military and served in Afghanistan. He was able to shoot at different levels from one building because he was very familiar with the techniques of mobile shooting. Police found materials to make bombs, ammunition, rifles and ballistic vests confirming that he had planned attack thoroughly. He had told the negotiators that he had acted alone in retaliation to the recent police shootings. Intentionally targeting white police officers, Johnson was shot twelve people, killing five officers. Since 9/11, this has been the deadliest single incident for law enforcement.
Police attempted to negotiate with the suspect but their efforts were futile. Eventually they ended the standoff by detonating a bomb through the use of the robots. To read more about the Dallas Shooting visit http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/08/us/philando-castile-alton-sterling-protests/index.html.
