Miami Beach Launches Its Final Trolley Route

Finding parking and dealing with traffic congestion may eventually become a thing of the past. Today marks the official debut of the fourth and final leg of Miami Beach’s trolley service. The complimentary trolley has launched its Collins Link route, adding the last piece to the trolley system.

With the newly unveiled route, the trolley will now be able to travel from 5th Street all the way to 88th Street with transfers. Three of the trolley’s four lines operate from 6 am until midnight, while the Alton-West Loop begins its operation at 8 am until midnight Monday through Saturday. On Sundays, all of the trolley lines begin at 8 am and run until midnight.

The completion of the trolley’s final route should come as welcome news to Miami Beach residents. Each trolley can accommodate about 25 passengers and boasts Wi-Fi access that is free as well as security cameras. There is also an app available for Android and iOS that will tell you when the next trolley will arrive.

Get Free Lunch in Miami Beach in Exchange for a Gift

Chances are you may have at some point during your life received a gift that you didn’t want or didn’t like. “Re-gifting” is a possible option if you have no intention of using or wearing what you were given, but this holiday season you can put your unwanted gifts to better use. A certain Miami Beach restaurant will take your gift, give it to someone less fortunate, and give you a free lunch in return for your noble act of kindness.

Specifically, the Burger King located off of West 41st Street near Meridian Avenue will be accepting gifts in exchange for a complimentary Whopper sandwich. The restaurant will be accepting the gifts the day after Christmas beginning at 10:30 am to 5 pm. Once all gifts have been received, the restaurant will donate the gifts to charity. It’s essentially a win-win situation.

If you can’t make it to the Miami Beach location to give a gift, you can still potentially win a prize. Just post a picture on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #WhopperExchange to participate. BK will be choosing 100 random winners. Happy gift exchanging!

Notable Art Basel Fashion Events

Art Basel Miami Beach officially begins today, and among the wealth of paintings, sculpture, and photography you’ll also find lots of stylish fashion. Plenty of fashion events will be going on, let’s take a look at a few highlights.

For a fusion of performance art, fashion, and philanthropy, check out Costa Rica at the Congress Hotel in South Beach. Reconciliation and identity in the Cuban-American subconscious come together in this installation featuring work by artist/designer Belaxis Buil. The show also features original ready-to-wear designs inspired by Buil’s Cuban heritage as well as performances by many additional local artists. The event begins at 8pm on Saturday and tickets cost just $25.

The already artistic Sagamore Hotel is currently playing host to the “Lingerie Française” event, a retrospective celebrating a century of gorgeous French lingerie design. Over ninety provocative pieces are currently on display featuring designs by Aubade, Chanetelle, and many more. There is no cost to attend “Lingerie Française” and it’s open to the public.
