In an effort to further improve city transportation, Miami Beach is looking to roll out a complimentary express trolley service connecting the northern end and South Beach areas. Passengers would have a quick way of reaching North Beach and Lincoln Road, with minimal stops in between.
This express trolley would further extend the Miami Beach trolley, a free service that has considerably gained in popularity since its debut over the past three years. If everything goes according to plan, the Middle Beach route would undergo an extension to connect it further into the North and South Beach area.
Miami Beach is currently awaiting approval from Miami-Dade County commissioners to begin rolling out the express trolley. Once the city receives the okay, the new route is expected to be up and running sometime next month or in October.
Have you used Miami Beach’s free trolley at all? Would you be more inclined to use it if and when the city rolls out this new express route? Feel free to share in the comments.
