Ice Bars, Pineapples, and Hurricane Benefits This Week

As Miami and Miami Beach continue to move forward beyond Hurricane Irma, there are plenty of events going on to keep South Floridians busy. The week may be coming to an end, but there is still lots to do.
Rosh Hashanah began last night, the Jewish New Year. In case you missed it, the popular Drinkhouse Fire & Ice right here in Miami Beach got into the swing of things last night. If you’ve never been there, the major highlight is the ice bar made out of 10,000 pounds of ice which includes ice sculptures and even drinks served in ice glassware. The bar is definitely a unique experience and worth a visit.
The Matador Room on Collins Avenue is serving a unique blend of pizza tonight at its Matador Bar as part of its monthly Pineapples & Pizza series. Try some avocado pizza made with ingredients like jalapeƱo while you sip on pineapple cocktails. Bring along a friend to enjoy the live music! The event begins at 9 pm.
Should you wish to contribute to a worthy cause, the Rust Pelican over in Key Biscayne is hosting its Pour for a Cause hurricane benefit event to raise funds for people still grappling with the effects of Hurricane Irma. You’ll find over eight drink stations plus a silent auction and plenty of raffles. The event begins at 7 pm and continues until 10 pm.
