Recover from the Holiday Celebrations with These Events

Still recovering from the New Year festivities and all of the holiday gift shopping? This week’s events in and around Miami will keep you entertained without denting your pocketbook.
If 2017 seemed to move like a whirlwind, you’ll likely enjoy the sultry musical stylings of the South Beach Jazz Fest kicking off on Friday at various locations in Miami Beach. Grammy Award-winning American saxophonist and composer Branford Marsalis will kick things off on Friday, January 5 at the Colony Theatre followed by Cuban jazz drummer Ignacio Berroa at the Gleason Room the next day. Tickets start at just $28.
Fans of contemporary dance may want to visit the Adrienne Arsht Center on Saturday to check out Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company perform Analogy: A Trilogy which follows three characters as they wade through different types of wars. Tickets range from $30 to $75.
One of the best ways to relax is to practice yoga. Miami Beach’s New World Center will host its Yoga Refresh 2018 event on Saturday at 10 am and 5 pm which includes a Vinyasa Flow class in the morning plus the Restorative Yoga and Sound Healing during the evening session. Tickets start at $30.
