Participate in a Good Cause During AIDS Walk Miami

Despite the many scientific advancements in fighting it, HIV/AIDS continues to be a major pandemic and it continues to greatly impact society, both in its health effects as well as being used as a source for discrimination. Hence, building awareness, understanding it, and contributing towards finding a cure are all extremely important.
For more than two decades, AIDS Walk Miami has served as a 5K walk-a-thon fundraiser, benefitting thousands of individuals and families throughout South Florida that are living with HIV/AIDS. This year, the event is celebrating its 30th anniversary and it will once again bring together people from all walks of life looking to do what they can to support the Care Resource and Food For Life Network food bank.
This year’s AIDS Walk Miami will be held on Sunday, April 22 at Soundscape Park in Miami Beach. The event’s Grand Marshal is Jorge Bernal, an Emmy-winning host of the Spanish-language television network Telemundo. The event will also include an appearance by performing artist Daniel Patrick Ellis and Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber, who will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.

Ultra Musical Festival Returns

Electronic music fans rejoice: the Ultra Music Festival is just over a month away! Taking place on March 23rd through the 25th at Bayfront Park, the three-day festival is one of the most popular in South Florida, drawing hundreds of thousands of fans each month as well as some of the most popular and widely acclaimed acts in electronic music.
This year’s Ultra headliners include many major names: Dutch DJs Afrojack and TiĆ«sto, French DJ David Guetta, and American electro house musician Steve Aoki will all be performing as part of the “Phase 1” lineup. English DJ John Digweed and Swedish techno producer and DJ Adam Beyer are two of the names headlining the “Resistance” portion of the show. Set Sail for the Miami Boat Show This Weekend

This President’s Day weekend, there is no better place to be than at the Miami International Boat Show beginning on February 15th! The Miami International Boat Show is a gathering of any and everything that involves the world of boating, from essential gear to the newest engines, and of course, the all-new vessels soon to grace the seas. In fact, over 1,100 boats will be showcased during this year’s event and visitors will also come across over 150 boats in-water, all of which will sit alongside the improved and expanded docks for easier pedestrian navigation. For sailing fans, there will be a larger amount of on-water boat training courses at the show.
This year’s Miami Boat Show is switching things up a bit for the first time in regards its sailing portion. Strictly Sail Miami® is breaking from tradition and will instead be held at the same location as the boat show, which should make things more convenient for attendees.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Miami


In less than a week, many of us will be celebrating Valentine’s Day. The Magic City is definitely a great place to get into the romantic or celebratory mood. Let’s take a look at some of the events going on for Cupid’s big day.
Remember the classic film Dirty Dancing starring the late Patrick Swayze? The Miami Beach Edition on Collins Avenue will be screening the film on Valentine’s Day during its Movies in the Sand series. There is no cost to attend the screening.
If you have a significant other, Basement: Miami invites you to skate for free during its weekly Coco Jelly Party. If you’re a single lady, there is no need to worry as you can also drink and ice skate for free until the stroke of midnight. Karaoke, Music Competitions and More This Week

It’s Monday which means another week of different events to check in and around Miami. Let’s get right into it.
