What’s happening during this last week of March? Plenty of free or low cost events to tide you over until the arrival of Easter this weekend. Let’s get started.
Remember Sheila Cecelia Escovedo? If you grew up or have any familiarity with 80s music you may recognize the woman better known by her stage name of Sheila E. The singer and percussionist achieved success in 1984 with the release of the single “The Glamorous Life”, written by her close friend and musician, the late Prince. Sheila E. will be performing material released throughout her career on Friday at Palm Court in the Miami Design District. There is no cost to watch her perform.
As vinyl continues its resurgence, collectors may want to set aside some time on Saturday to visit the Gramps bar in Wynwood and its Miami Record Fair. The people—and pet—friendly event will include live music, pizza courtesy of Pizza Tropical, and of course plenty of records. The event begins at noon and there is no cost to attend.
