When is the last time you visited Española Way in Miami Beach? The classic roadway has earned something of a reputation as a lighter version of Lincoln Road which is typically visited by tourists than locals. The city is looking to change that by reinventing Española Way, and it’s already added the finishing touches on a $2 million restoration project.
Visitors to the new Española Way will find new trees, lighting, plus a curb-less design intended to make it friendlier to pedestrians. Additionally, it is not overrun with a number of chain stores like Lincoln Road and it also manages to maintain its Italian-Spanish ambiance.
To encourage locals to rediscover Española Way, they can sign up to receive a twenty percent discount at the various shop and restaurants provided they have proof of residence. There are also various themes and events happening throughout the week. Mondays, for example, will focus on providing restaurant customers with vegetarian options. On Tuesdays, an arts and crafts market will be open from 4 pm to 9 pm. Thursdays and Fridays bring an infusion of salsa and flamenco.
