Fishing is already a great way to pass the time, but fishing for a cause is even better. In the Miami Physicians Fishing Tournament, you’ll get to fish for interesting fish in the Florida Keys while helping vulnerable teens and children. Money from the fishing tournament goes to the Miami Bridge, which is Miami Dade’s only 24-hour emergency shelter for kids ages 10-17.
The Miami Physicians Fishing Tournament is the oldest fishing tournament in South Florida, and it helps bring together physicians, leaders, and professionals across South Florida for a weekend of fun and fish. You don’t have to be a physician to fish, however. There will be over 300 guests showing up too. This year, the event is being hosted at the Ocean Reef Club at Key Largo, from Thursday, July 19th to Sunday, July 22.
The tournament will definitely be a fun time, and it will also be for a great cause. The Miami Bridge tries to help kids who are susceptible to falling into a life of crime and victimization. The Bridge offers lots of free services like sheltering kids, family counseling and reunifying families. They’ve helped over 600 kids since 1985.
Head over to the Miami Physicians Fishing Tournament for a great weekend and a chance to help kids.
