For those of you that visited Miami Beach this past weekend, you may have noticed some changes in regards to the roads and traffic patterns. As a means of tackling the massive numbers of college students that visit the barrier island for spring break, the city has some changes in place to keep things orderly.
As was the case last weekend, this weekend visitors will notice some closures. For starters, Ocean Drive between 5th and 12th Streets will be closed after a certain time. The MacArthur and Julia Tuttle Causeway will only have a pair of lanes moving, so you may be better off taking advantage of either the 79th Street Causeway or the Venetian Causeway.
For those that are planning on using scooters to get around, the city is now able to disable scooters to reduce the chances of any reckless scooter drivers. On an unrelated note: also remember that certain roads around the city will be accessible only to residents of Miami Beach or employees of businesses on the barrier island.
