Miami Spice on Lincoln Road

The start of Miami Spice is so close we can almost taste it, no pun intended. The annual dining promotion welcomes patrons to enjoy a three-course lunch or dinner for $23 and $39, respectively. This year’s list of participating restaurants is bigger than ever, but for purposes of this blog, we’re going to concentrate on Lincoln Road.
Those that plan on dining at Meat Market can choose from six distinct appetizers like celery root hummus, East Coast oysters, tuna tartare for an extra cost, or ceviche. Entree choices will include ten-ounce prime rib-eye steak or a smaller six-ounce filet mignon, crab-encrusted ocean blue cobia, and more. For dessert, end the experience with Fireman Derek's red velvet cake with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce topping.
Juvia has frequently made the list of Miami Beach’s best restaurants, why not try it during Miami Spice? The restaurant will offer appetizers like Parmesan crumble caesar salad, huevos rancheros, and feta cheese topped watermelon salad. For the entree, choose from vegetable fricassee, lamb shank with mashed potato, and more.

A Weekend of Salsa

Salsa music is synonymous with Miami and the Miami Salsa Congress is among the most popular events featuring the popular Latin music genre. Returning for its 18th birthday this weekend, the event is expected to draw thousands of attendees and it will feature classes, celebrations, workshops, and of course plenty of live music.
Miami Salsa Congress is produced by the Salsa Lovers studio. The idea for the event began way back in 2001 and the first Miami Salsa Congress was held at Miami Marriott Dadeland the following year. In 2003, the event moved over to the barrier island of Miami Beach where it has been held ever since.
The Miami Salsa Congress is so popular, people from all parts of the world are heading to Miami Beach to attend the fun weekend of dance and music which is open to people of all skill levels. Among the many goals of the event is to keep the passion for salsa music alive and well in Miami while also encouraging more South Florida “salseros”. Furthermore, the event is made to encourage an appreciation for a broad variety of other genres like bachata, mambo, Afro-Cuban salsa, and more.

Grab a Meal at Regina's Grocery Before Going Fishing

Before you decide to head off on your deep sea fishing trip, it’s worth grabbing something to eat well in advance. If you’d prefer to have something in Miami Beach, you may wish to check out the newly opened Regina’s Grocery, which is making its debut at the Urbanica Meridian Hotel beginning today.

Besides sandwiches, Regina’s Grocery also sells imported grocery items plus homemade sauces and picnic baskets you can grab to go. Its address is 418 Meridian Avenue and it’s open every day from 11 am to 6 pm.

Get into the Fourth of July Mood at These Miami Beach Events

The days are warmer, longer, and there is (slightly) less traffic, all signs of summer in South Florida. While the season is officially here, it doesn’t really begin until after Independence Day. With that in mind, there are several different events going on to help you ring in the “official” start of the summer.
Tomorrow, 27 Restaurant & Bar on Indian Creek Drive is hosting the CLASSy Natural Wine Night where you can sip on various drinks at a discounted price. Try some drinks coming all the way from Italy or take a crash course in wine by attending the class which kicks off at 6:30 and costs just $15. The event itself is free.
Head over to RWSB on Collins Avenue the day before Independence Day to be a part of the summer barbecue kick off featuring food prepared by guest chefs Janine Booth and Jeff McInnis. The event begins at 6:30 and tickets are $40. Seating is limited so you may wish to consider purchasing in advance. Should there be enough space, walk-ins are welcome.
