This Memorial Day weekend, the skies of South Florida will be graced by several different aircraft as part of the “National Salute to America’s Heroes”. This flight is intended to honor the many brave and selfless individuals that may be first responders, healthcare professionals, military, and essential personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among the aircraft, there will be a USCG C-144 Aircraft from the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Miami, four U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon Aircraft from the 482nd Fighter Wing, and many more. These aircraft will be flying over more than thirty hospitals across South Florida.
If you’re interested in checking it out, the flyover will begin tomorrow at 11:30 am and will end at around 1:30 pm. Residents are encouraged to watch the flyovers from the safety of their homes and they should not travel to view the flyover. Residents should also continue to practice preventative measures like social distancing and stay away from large gatherings.
