Today, we would like to fondly salute Paul Raffety, also known as “The Mullet Man”, “The Crabber”, and most importantly, our hero!Just like the world’s greatest superheroes always being awesome, Paul was always there to save the day and was truly the MVP of the once highly active Castaways Dock. During the summer, fall, and winter seasons, it was Paul who would bring us our trolling mullet. During the spring, he brought dozens of live mullet daily. We depended on Paul’s kindness and his bait to use for kite fish and wreckfish daily. Thanks in part to his actions, numerous sailfish, white and blue marlin, giant kingfish, dolphin, barracudas, giant sharks, amberjacks, groupers, tarpon, and many more sea dwellers were caught on Raffety live baits! There were several occasions where we asked Paul to deliver mullet prior to the morning trip and he would go as far as restocking us up before the afternoon trips began.
Paul would take his John boat and partially fill it with water, turning it into a jumbo live well. We would like to give him a massive thank you on behalf of every Castaways Dock charter boat captain, mate, owner, and the thousands of happy customers thanks to his selfless efforts and loyal service.
