Yellowfin Tuna Catch Is Surprisingly Huge

Have you heard the news about the tuna? A pair of fishermen recently made waves after snagging a “super cow” yellowfin tuna weighing a whopping 310 pounds! In a case of inopportune timing, however, the catch arrives three days after the closure of the 2020 Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot tournament where nearly 150 teams participated, and the winner caught a 210-pound tuna.

As for the 300+ pound tuna, snagging the sea dweller was no easy catch. The tuna put up a hearty fight amid tough conditions, and according to the fisherman, it took an incredible hour and a half to reel in the massive fish.

The yellowfin tuna is one of the larger fish belonging to the tuna species, and it can weigh over 400 pounds. Its name comes from its finlets which are indeed bright yellow. They typically travel in schools with companions of similar size, and they remain highly popular among sportfishing fans around the world.

What Should You Wear for Your Fall Fishing Trip?

“South Florida” and “cold weather” are not words typically used in the same sentence, but there is a rare possibility that the temperature might be on the cool side if you're going out in the morning on a fishing charter. Then again, the day may be especially muggy. As the weather can be erratic, it may be wise to dress in layers. Though your Miami Beach fishing trip will most likely boast warm weather, you can at least subtract or add clothes based on the conditions.

Protective headgear can aid on especially sunny days. Try wearing a hat, put differently. In addition to sunburn, too much exposure to the sun's rays on your head can result in headaches or other heat-related problems. Sunglasses are perfect on that note for shielding your eyes from UV rays. On sunny days, they also help tremendously with protecting your eyes from the particularly bright rays reflecting off of the water surface.

Lastly, don't forget your sunscreen! Even if it seems the sun isn’t out, it’s still possible to get sunburn. A product with an SPF of at least thirty should suffice.
