Take up Fishing in 2021

Will 2021 be the year you discover the sport of fishing? This old custom is something you can take up on your own or you can bring along a friend or family member, and it may also provide physical and mental health perks.

For the body, fishing is healthy. Your lungs, heart, and primary muscle groups can also get a nice workout while you're busy pulling in a huge catch. Fish aren’t simply going to give up the fight, so you'll need to concentrate on strength if you expect to make a catch.

Getting outside and absorbing the essential vitamin D thanks to the sunlight is a perfect way to naturally provide nourishment to the body. Only make sure you wear safe gear and add at least 30 SPF sunscreen before it’s time to head to the water.

Decreased tension. There's an extremely serene thing about standing in the middle of the majestic ocean, which means stress is practically non-existent. As you focus on using the rod to reel the catch in, though your adrenaline may build up, just being in or near water can help lower stress.

THERAPY-IV, a Miami deep sea fishing boat service, brought this update to you. This charter provides all of its clientele with a high-end deep sea fishing experience. With their luxury yacht, exceptional customer service, and experienced and professional Captain and crew, visitors can rest easy, they will not only have a memorable fishing experience but will also have the pleasure of visiting the best spots off the coast of Miami and Biscayne Bay. Watch “Seven Deadly Sins” in Miami Beach

Any live or performance art events have largely been relegated to being shown via Internet streaming due to obvious reasons. However, for those craving some performance art in Miami Beach in a non-Internet setting, Miami New Drama is moving from its Colony Theatre home on Lincoln Road and getting creative with its presentation of the “Seven Deadly Sins” theatrical experience.

Pride, Lust, Envy, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, and Wrath each make an appearance in a series of bite-size ten-minute plays written by some of the county’s best playwrights. Each play takes place in a storefront where actors perform the glass of the store and the audience sits outdoors in a socially-distanced setting while using headphones to listen to the performance. The seven plays take about two hours total to watch and a human guide is provided.

“Seven Deadly Sins” is taking place every Thursday through Sunday until January 3rd. If you’re interested, tickets are available for purchase online at miaminewdrama.org.

Where Are the Best Fishing Spots in Florida?

Florida has no shortage of places to go fishing. With its penchant for activities that involve the sea, avid anglers have oodles of options when it comes to where to fish. But with so many options, how do you narrow down your choice? The FishingBooker website has a top ten list of Florida fishing spots and a well-known South Florida made the list.

Coming in fifth was Miami, which FishingBooker calls “one of the most exclusive fisheries in all of Florida”, highlighting deep sea fishing as its primary attraction. Some of the notable places mentioned in Miami include Sailfish Alley and the blog also name-checks some of the sea dwellers people can catch, from wahoo and tuna to the mahi-mahi and more.

First place went to The Florida Keys which FishingBooker says provides a “gratifying” experience when it comes to deep sea fishing. It’s here where fishing fans can take on fish like the famous marlin.

Art Week Isn’t Entirely Over

As a result of circumstances just about everyone is familiar with, this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach is going virtual, as are the majority of satellite fairs that take place during Art Week. While you’ll need to go online to check out Art Basel works, some much smaller events are happening in Miami Beach and beyond.

For example, The Sagamore will be showcasing various works throughout the property during Art Week and part of the sales earned from the art sales will be used to support The Bass in acquiring art from local Miami-based artists.

Over on Lincoln Road, the Oolite Arts’ Pop-Up Exhibition “MATERIALIZE” kicked off last week and will stick around until December 6. All of the featured artwork is available for purchase, and all proceeds will go directly to the creative minds behind the art. With works ranging from a dollar to more than $1,000, there is more than enough to choose from. The in-person works for sale are set up with social distancing in mind. MATERIALIZE is open from noon to 8 pm.
